Solingen.
Outreach Data: 3rd – 14th of July
Solingen stands at a spiritual crossroads. Once, this city experienced a powerful move of God – a time when the Gospel echoed through the streets and revival shaped the atmosphere. Today, however, that fire seems like a distant memory. What was once filled with light has, over the years, been overshadowed by darkness and growing hate. This city, home to around 160,000 people, carries a strong identity and history. Known worldwide as the “City of Blades,” Solingen has forged tools that have reached the nations. Yet today, it is not steel that needs sharpening – it is hearts.
Solingen does not need better programs or new strategies. It needs awakening. The city must return to the wells of revival that once flowed here. It must rediscover its spiritual inheritance and step back into the calling God placed upon it long ago.
Now is the time for believers to rise up – not divided, but united. Not silent, but bold. The hope for Solingen will not come from social trends or political solutions, but from the transforming power of Jesus Christ.
Let the Gospel be heard again in every neighborhood. Let love overcome hate. Let light break through the darkness. Let us stand together in unity and bring back the light of the Gospel to this city – a light that is so desperately needed. And let Solingen once again become a testimony of true revival – in the Bergisches Land and far beyond.

The best airport to fly into is Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN).
This is usually the easiest and often the cheapest option.
By car it takes about 35–40 minutes to Solingen from the Cologne Bonn Airport (depending on traffic).
By train it takes about 1–1.5 hours, depending on the connection.
The train station at the airport is “Köln/Bonn Flughafen” (located directly at the terminal).
From there you can take:
S19 (S-Bahn) to Köln Hauptbahnhof or Köln Messe/Deutz
Then change to RE7 (Regional-Express) or RB48 (Regionalbahn) to Solingen Hbf
From Solingen Hbf, take a local bus (for example lines 681, 682, 683, 690) to Graf-Wilhelm-Platz, which is the central square in the city center.
Reizen door de stad
The best way to get around Solingen is by bus. Most people use buses because they are the easiest way to travel around the city. You can buy tickets at ticket machines, via the DB Navigator app, or at the station.
A good option is the Deutschlandticket (€49 per month). It is valid on all regional trains (RE, RB, S-Bahn) and buses across Germany. If you book it, make sure to cancel it after purchase so you are not charged for the following month.
In the city center, you can also walk everywhere.
There are rentable e-scooters and bikes available.
There is no regular Uber service, but taxis are available.
