Rovaniemi.
Outreach Date: 15th – 25th of July
Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland and is located close to the Arctic Circle, which makes it one of the few cities in the world so far north. That’s why you can experience both, the Midnight Sun in the summer and the Northern Lights in the winter. Especially in the summer, Rovaniemi is known for a clean nature and peaceful outdoor activities. Rovaniemi has a great spiritual significance in the Lapland region. Rovaniemi needs the transformative power of the gospel bringing freedom for captives, heals the sick and brings joy to the city! Rovaniemi is waiting for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, through which it will flow from there to the nations. Rovaniemi also carries a vision to bring forgiveness and true freedom among indigenous people group and, through it, to the entire province of Lapland. This will eventually have a great impact for Sweden and Norway as well.
Rovaniemi has about 70,000 inhabitants and is also a significant university city with many students from all over Finland and the world. Rovaniemi is an international city, and in winter, up to a million tourists flock to the city. Rovaniemi has a huge potential to reach nations and people who will experience “the magic and peace of Lapland” but will find true peace and the Savior.
Rovaniemi needs a spiritual awakening and taking authority over all confusion! It has often been prophesied that revival will begin in the north and spread from there throughout Finland. We believe God’s going to make an impact in this city to be a trendsetter, a lighthouse in the arctic. God wants to bring us great unity and awakening in this city. It’s time to bring God’s love and power to Lapland.
