Lyon.
Outreach Data: 6th – 18th of July
Lyon, located at the crossroads of Europe in southeastern France, is a city of influence, history, and spiritual destiny. The historic capital of Gaul and a city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it shines through its cultural heritage, renowned universities, and international influence. From the 1st century onward, the Christian faith took deep root there. Its history was marked by the courageous witness of the martyrs of the year 177, notably Blandina, as well as Irenaeus of Lyon.
Today, Lyon brings together a diverse population: students, families, professionals, and people from many cultures and nations. A major university city and strategic European center, it attracts thousands of young people and internationals each year. The time has come for Lyon to rise. Together, we want to proclaim the name of Jesus in the streets, love the people of this city, and believe for a deep and lasting transformation. We declare that God is visiting Lyon, transforming lives, strengthening His Church, and will cause His glory to shine throughout the entire city.

The best airport to fly into is Lyon–Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS). It takes about 30 minutes to reach the city center by the Rhônexpress tram, which connects the airport directly to “Lyon Part-Dieu” central station. Tickets cost about €16.30 one way. You can also arrive by high-speed train (TGV) to Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Perrache from major European cities.
The easiest way to get around Lyon is by public transportation — metro, tram, bus, and funicular — operated by TCL. A single ticket costs about €2, and a 24-hour pass costs around €6.70. Tickets are valid across all transport modes and can be purchased at stations or via the TCL app (tcl.fr).
The city center is very walkable. Visitors can also use Vélo’v bike rentals, e-scooters (Lime, Dott), Uber, or taxis. The Lyon City Card offers unlimited public transport and access to many attractions.
