Zagreb for Jesus

Outreach Datoer: 3rd – 18th of July

Zagreb, the capital of Croatia and the cultural, political, and spiritual heart of the nation, stands at a strategic crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe. Situated between the slopes of Mount Medvednica and the Sava River, the city has for centuries been a meeting point where the interests of various regional powers intersect and collide. We believe Zagreb carries a key role in the spiritual realm, and the time has come to claim it for the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.

As the center of education, government leadership, media, and culture, Zagreb shapes the direction of Croatia. The city is home to students, local and international workers, artists, professional athletes and many more. Many of them carry the burdens of anxiety, fear, past traumas, and the invisible oppression brought on by the fast-paced, digitalized way of life. We feel a deep need for ministries of deliverance and healing to rise up in Zagreb, to bring the Good News to every corner of the city in the power of the Holy Spirit, and to see hearts and minds set free so that people can experience a personal encounter with the living God. For this reason, it is vital that the Church of Jesus Christ in Zagreb demonstrates unity and determination in practical evangelism, which begins on the streets. Our mission is to bring the Good News of God’s Kingdom to every neighborhood, generation, and culture in our city. Only united around Jesus’ victory on the cross and the power of His resurrection can we see lasting transformation in human lives and witness our city of Zagreb becoming a place of God’s presence.

The best airport to fly into is Zagreb Franjo Tuđman Airport, which is the main international airport in Croatia and usually the cheapest and most convenient option. The airport is located about 17 km from the city center. By car or taxi, it takes around 25–30 minutes to reach downtown Zagreb. There is also an airport bus that takes about 35 minutes and brings you directly to Zagreb Bus Station (Autobusni kolodvor Zagreb). If you are traveling by train, the main railway station is Zagreb Glavni kolodvor, located close to the city center and well connected to other parts of the city.

Hvordan komme seg rundt i byen

The best way to get around Zagreb is by tram and bus, operated by the public transport company ZET. Trams are especially popular because they run frequently and cover most parts of the city. You can buy single tickets, daily, or monthly passes. A single ticket (30 or 90 minutes) costs a few euros, while a daily or weekly ticket is a great option if you plan to travel a lot in one day. Tickets can be bought at ticket kiosks (Tisak), from ticket machines, or via the ZET mobile app (https://www.zet.hr). Google Maps is also very helpful for planning routes and checking tram connections.

Day & Multi-Day Tickets:

1-day ticket – €3.98
3-day ticket – €9.29
7-day ticket – €19.91
15-day ticket – €26.54
30-day ticket – €53.09

Local Tips:

Zagreb’s city center is very walkable, and many attractions are close to each other. Uber and Bolt are widely available and often cheaper than regular taxis. You can also rent e-scooters and bikes, which are perfect for short trips around the city.
