Helsinki for Jesus

Outreach Dates: 8th – 18th of July

Helsinki is the capital and most populous city in Finland. About 690,000 people live in the municipality, with 1.3 million in the capital region. It is the country’s most significant centre for politics, education, finance, culture, and research. Helsinki is also a vibrant student city, with more than 70 000 university students, of which 8000 are internationals. We need to see the power of the gospel released in Helsinki and touch every area of our society and every people group.

We have seen God preparing the hearts of the people in Finland. Especially youths are very open for the gospel. During the last few years we have been able to conduct open air gospel campaigns in the heart of Helsinki where hundreds of people have been touched by the life changing power of the gospel. The Lord is raising up a new breed of fiery evangelists in Finland from across the church borders who preach the gospel in great boldness. We have a longing to see prayer, worship and the gospel established and become visible in our nation again.

Our vision is to see 300 evangelists flood the streets of Helsinki with the power of the gospel this coming summer. Will you be one of them?

Join the WhatsApp Channel for the latest updates.

Each day we are going on the streets for a couple of hours to share the Gospel and see many life-changing encounters, pray for healing and love on people. We have breaks where you can grab lunch and dinner and regular times to gather for worship, prayer and to hear the amazing testimonies of what God is doing on the streets.

We will send you more specific information on the city through the WhatsApp Channel. You can join for any of the days. Simply let us know what weeks/days you can commit to once we start the registration for the city.

All participants are responsible to cover all of their own costs (flights, accommodation, transportation, food etc.) We believe this will be a great investment into the Gospel being spread all over Europe.

How to Get There

The best airport to fly into is Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport. The airport is served by the I and P commuter trains.

The trains run between the airport and Helsinki city center every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 15 minutes on Sundays. During quiet times, they run less frequently, with intervals of up to 30 minutes.

I train: about 27 minutes to the city center (Helsinki–Tikkurila–Airport–Myyrmäki–Helsinki)

P train: about 32 minutes (Helsinki–Myyrmäki–Airport–Tikkurila–Helsinki)

For detailed routes and timetables, see the Journey Planner at reittiopas.fi. To buy tickets, download the HSL app. See prices and details below.

Getting Around the City

Helsinki is practically a walking city. It is compact and easy to navigate on foot.
Helsinki’s public transport system is one of the city’s greatest strengths. It is efficient, reliable, and reasonably priced. HSL operates public transport in the capital area.

The HSL app is a free application that allows you to buy tickets on your mobile phone or other device. Mobile tickets are valid on all modes of HSL public transport in the capital area, including trams, buses, trains, and city bikes — all with one ticket.

HSL has divided the capital area into four travel zones. Most of Helsinki is in the AB zone.

AB zone single ticket (80–110 minutes): €3.20

One-day ticket: €10.60

ABC single ticket: €4.50
The airport is located in zone C and the Helsinki Central Railway Station is in zone A. You need an ABC ticket to travel from the airport to the city center.

Additional Options

You can also rent e-scooters such as Voi, Lime, Tier, and Bolt via their apps. Bolt, Uber, and taxis are widely available throughout the city and are convenient options.
