Marsella for Jesus

Outreach Dates: 15th – 25th of July

Marseille, the great port city of southern France on the Mediterranean coast, is a historic gateway between nations, cultures, and continents. Known for its vibrant harbor, deep roots, and strong identity, it stands at a crossroads of peoples and stories. Often described as the “black sheep” of France because of violence, crime, and drug trafficking, the city also carries a greater spiritual calling. We believe Marseille is destined to become a place of renewal and encounter, where God’s glory is revealed and lives are restored.

Home to a rich mix of cultures, students, families, workers, and newly arrived communities, Marseille reflects the nations of the world within one city. Behind the tension and challenges, we sense a deep spiritual hunger and a longing for hope, truth, and belonging. Many have never clearly heard the Gospel or experienced the transforming love of God. We believe this is a decisive moment for light to enter dark places, for hearts to open, and for new life to rise across every neighborhood.

Now is the time for us to stand together and step into this calling. Let us unite across churches and backgrounds to bring the Good News into the streets, homes, campuses, and marketplaces of Marseille. We believe the city will be known not for brokenness but for God’s movement — a place people come to because He is at work, and from which blessing flows to the nations. Let us rise together and join the harvest in Marseille.

We will send you more specific information on the city through the WhatsApp Channel. You can join for any of the days. Simply let us know what weeks/days you can commit to once we start the registration for the city.

Todos los participantes son responsables de cubrir sus propios gastos (vuelos, alojamiento, transporte, comida, etc.) Creemos que será una gran inversión para que el Evangelio se extienda por toda Europa.

How to Get There

The best airport to fly into for Marseille is Marseille Provence Airport (MRS). It is the closest and usually the cheapest option. From the airport, it takes about 25–30 minutes to reach the city center by car. There is also a direct airport shuttle bus to the main train station “Marseille Saint-Charles”, which takes around 25 minutes and runs frequently throughout the day. From Saint-Charles station, you can easily connect to metro, tram, and bus lines across the city. If you arrive by train from other French or European cities, your destination stop should also be Marseille Saint-Charles, the central hub.

Getting Around the City

The best way to get around Marseille is by metro, tram, and bus, operated by RTM (Régie des Transports Métropolitains). The network covers most parts of the city and is the easiest and most affordable way to travel. Tickets can be bought at ticket machines in metro and tram stations, at kiosks, or through the RTM app and website (rtm.fr). Current prices are approximately: single ticket 1.70 Euros, 24-hour ticket about 5.20 Euros, and multi-day passes are also available. Day passes are usually the best choice if you plan several trips in one day.

In the city center and around the Old Port, many places are reachable on foot. Marseille also offers rental bikes and e-bikes through Le Vélo and electric scooters from providers like Lime and Tier. Uber and Bolt operate in Marseille, and regular taxis are widely available. For easiest route planning, Google Maps and Citymapper both work well with local public transport.
