Cologne for Jesus

Outreach Dates: 14th – 25th of July

Cologne is located on the Rhine and, with over 1 million inhabitants, is the fourth largest city in Germany. “The city is a feeling, a matter of the heart,” say the people who live here! “Love your city” is taken very seriously here, and we do too, because Jesus’ heart beats for Cologne, and we want to become one with that heartbeat!

Cologne is one of the oldest cities in Germany, uniting many cultures and characterized by a lively diversity. The city is often associated with a colorful, cheerful, tolerant, and open way of life, which is what makes Cologne so unique. Whether young or old, every moment is celebrated here, be it a victory for 1.FC Cologne, Carnival, or simply a sunny day. Especially in summer, life in Cologne takes place on the streets and in the parks, so let’s go out and celebrate and share our joy in Jesus.

We believe that God wants to flood this city with His glory and that He is waiting for us to unite in our love for Jesus, let His Spirit work in Cologne, and proclaim the good news. We know that the harvest is ripe! So join us, become a worker, and experience thousands giving their lives to Jesus! A year full of signs and wonders that testify that Jesus Christ lives, saves, heals, and works—today. We proclaim freedom for the prisoners. The blind will see, the deaf will hear. In unity we move forward—for the One who unites us. Be part of what God wants to do through you in Cologne this year.

Each day we are going on the streets for a couple of hours to share the Gospel and see many life-changing encounters, pray for healing and love on people. We have breaks where you can grab lunch and dinner and regular times to gather for worship, prayer and to hear the amazing testimonies of what God is doing on the streets.

We will send you more specific information on the city through the WhatsApp Channel. You can join for any of the days. Simply let us know what weeks/days you can commit to once we start the registration for the city.

All participants are responsible to cover all of their own costs (flights, accommodation, transportation, food etc.) We believe this will be a great investment into the Gospel being spread all over Europe.

How to Get There

If you are traveling from further away, the best airports to fly into are Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN) and Düsseldorf Airport (DUS). Both airports are easily accessible by public transport. From Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN), you can take the train to Cologne, which takes about 15 minutes. You can also take the train to Cologne from Düsseldorf Airport (DUS), which takes about 40 minutes.

Cologne Central Station (Hbf) is located right in the city center, from where you can easily reach everything by local transport. The Köln Messe/Deutz stop is also well connected. There are direct ICE connections throughout Germany and internationally. Long-distance buses (e.g., FlixBus) run directly to Cologne from many cities in Germany and Europe. This is often a cost-effective alternative to train or plane travel.

Cologne is easily accessible via several highways. If you are coming by car, allow a little extra time, especially during rush hour, as many construction sites often cause traffic jams.

Getting Around the City

The best way to get around the city is by subway, tram, or bus. Most people use these modes of transportation because they are the cheapest and easiest option. You can buy subway tickets via the “KVB App” or the Deutsche Bahn app “DB Navigator.”

Here are the current prices (subject to change; for the latest information, please visit the website):

Day ticket: €9.20

Weekly ticket: €37.60

Instead of a monthly ticket, we recommend purchasing the Deutschlandticket, which allows you to travel throughout Germany and use all regional trains, buses, and subways. For more information, please visit the Deutsche Bahn website.

Other means of transportation within Cologne include KVB rental bikes, e-scooters, and e-bikes from the companies “Voi,” “Dott,” “Lime,” “Bolt,” and “Sigo.”
